From Collection to Cultivation

At the end of September, some of our team had the pleasure of visiting the Brogdale Collections—home of the National Fruit Collections, the living gene bank for UK fruit crop diversity. As our first group research visit since the project's launch, it also presented an opportunity for our team to meet in person after a year of Covid-related delays and remote working. We thank our guide, Mike, and Brogdale for a rich and informative day out exploring the orchards, talking through the apple variety climate trials taking place on-site, and learning more about the history of the collection as it moved from Wisley to Brogdale.
