The project ocassionally hosts visiting scholars with expertise in the history of food, agriculture, and plant science. These visitors participate in project workshops and reading groups and are invited to present their own research to the larger From Collection to Cultivation community in Cambridge and beyond.
Visiting scholars:
Xan Chacko (Lecturer in Science, Technology, and Society, Brown University). Dr Chacko, who is writing a book on the history and practices of seed banking, visited the project in Easter 2023.
Susannah Chapman (Research Fellow, University of Queensland). Dr Chapman, who is writing a book on seed production and governance in The Gambia, visited the project in Easter 2023.
